Scott A. Newman is Founder & Program Director of Journeys for Jews.
From his extensive experience and commitment to informal and experiential Jewish education for the last 13 years, Scott has recognized that transformative Jewish experiences take place when groups and individuals are taken 'out of their element' together and are afforded new learning experiences.
Scott has been at the forefront of professionalizing the field of Informal Jewish Education for several years. Nationally recognized as a founder of a growing network of Reform Youth Workers, Scott feels strongly that there is an urgent need for rich Jewish identity-building programs that extend beyond the synagogue into mainstream culture.
Scott is a graduate of the University at Albany, State University of New York and holds a BA in Communication with focuses in Business and Hebrew Language. Scott additionally founded the Reform Jewish student group "RUACH!" which still thrives today at SUNY Albany.
